Hello! Welcome to my blog. My name is Col. I live in Perth and I have a passion for construction. I am pretty useless when it comes to construction work so I tend to leave it to the experts. However, I find that there is nothing more pleasing than seeing a team of construction workers complete a job. Over the years, I have hired many different types of construction worker and they have all taken the time to chat with me. During these conversations, I have learnt so pretty interesting things which I will be exploring on this blog. Enjoy!

3 Times You Need an Emergency Plumber

Ethan Burton

As a homeowner, you probably know the common issues that may cause you to need an emergency plumber. These common issues include clogged pipes or pipes that have cracked due to leaks or freezing. There are some plumbing issues that you may not have thought about when it comes to emergency plumbing needs. Here are three of those issues and what you need to know about each one.

1. Washing Machine Lines and Hoses

One plumbing issue that can occur in your home deal with your washing machine. Your washing machine hoses, plumbing lines, and faucets can break or leak. These leaks can cause massive water damage in your laundry room and the rooms adjacent to your laundry room. Your first reaction, if your washing machine hose breaks, is to turn off the main valve to the washing machine itself.

The problem may be that the plumbing itself is clogged which caused a burst of water through the hose and ultimately lead to the hose breaking. If this is the case, turning off the water may not help and may still result in a leak or plumbing issue. Your emergency plumber can come out and fix the plumbing line, replace the hose to the washing machine, and check for further issues in the area.

2. Leaking Water Heaters

If you have a water heater tank, you may have issues with leaks from that tank. These leaks can come from multiple sources including the direct plumbing lines or with the water heater tank itself. If you notice the water heater leaking, you should contact your emergency plumber right away. They have the tools to turn off the water safely and check the water heater for the leaks as well as the issue causing the leaks. They can also make patch repairs to the water heater tank and repair the plumbing that may have the issue. If there is a clog, they can clear that clog to prevent further issues.

3. Toilet Backups and Overflows

If you have children, you may already know how quickly and easily your toilets can become clogged. Small children may put toys, baby wipes, or other items in the toilet and try to flush them. This can cause the toilet to back up and overflow. Your emergency plumber can help remove even hard to remove plastic toys that may be caught oddly in the plumbing. They can also help you put safety locks on the toilet to prevent children from flushing easily and causing more clogs.

If you have any of these issues occur, consider calling an emergency plumber as soon as possible. You may also want to consider having a 24-hour emergency plumbing service in mind for issues that can happen after hours. This will help you make a quick call to a plumber and waste no time with having the plumbing issue resolved.
